Tomorrow, I have to help give a skype tour about 3d printing to a group of grade three students. I have no idea how this is going to go!

I am already experiencing pushback for certain things and coinflicting vision things. *sigh* Day 3! Also complete lack of vision things. Well, we'll sort it out, probably.

Less cool is me pointing out that MCTguy is trying to bully me about billing things. Grr. How do deal? He might be right, maybe it isn't worth making a deal out of in this case - I don't know, I barely know the rules at this point. Bah. I tell myself it doesnt mater because we aren't going to be keeping it, but.... what else are we going to to with a million dollar machine that had to be installed via a crane? Well okay I have some ideas on that front, but we'll see. Push it into the creek has often been proposed but never yet implemented. At least it seems to be working now. For now. Ish.

Anyway. I've actually been feeling pretty alert/awake in the evenings so far. And tomorrow is Friday woooh! So I am transitioning okay. I had a meeting on campus this morning though that went well - I hit it off with the woman reviewing my benefits stuff really well, so it was...kind of fun? But I suppose that is literally her job, so - good on her! Also I was in the middle of drinking a giant tea.

Non-work things: I've been bad at Weather this week. Yesterday I wore my rain boots thinking it was supposed to pour, and it hardly rained at all and never while I was out. Today I wore my new sandals (I got Teva Tirras because they had good reviews and were relatively cheap - bets on whether they last me the summer!), and it was rainy *and* cold. I really need to just wash the mud off my boots so I can wear them again :P I didn't get rained on until my way home, at least, but I'd decided to go out to dinner since the fam was going out practically as I'd have been arriving for an event at the kids' school, and it BUCKETED as I was getting off the bus to that end. The sandals are fine in water, but my pant legs got wet and it was cold :( I got home, dried my feet, put on wool socks and my rubber boots, and had to take the dogs out. I really really need insoles for the boots though! Ahh well.

Also I write a star wars drabble: Symbol. It is not what I was meaning to write, but I still like it. It is about why Jedi always cut perfect circles with their light sabers. Wheee!

I still have no cake. If it hadn't been pouring and the dogs hadn't been waiting, I may have gone searching. Another time, I guess!

I did a big entry yesterday and apparently forgot to post it, and semagic didn't save it. Balls!

Well, the tl;dr version: I am destined to be a decrepit old lady and the cat woke me up freaking out over nothing :|

Seriously though - my shoes are wearing out, and I hadn't realized how badly. On Friday I had some pretty bad foot pain, and further investigation has confirmed this is because of how the sole has worn through on my sandal on that side - basically the actual sole is gone in the middle, so the center of the ball of my foot just has squishy foot bed foam between it an the ground, but the bones around it have more sole support, and it puts pressure on my foot bones in terribly interesting ways. So I'm going to ditch them in favour of still worn but more wearable shoes until I can replace them.

Also, to recap what I didn't post yesterday, I probably have hip bursitis that flares up any time I try to run even a bit and affects other forms of exercise, plus knee problems, hand joint issues (that interfere with pushups if I try to do too many), etc - decrepit old lady. I'm not even old yet ;_;

Anyway, it is Star Wars Day! Woohoo! Here's hoping the new movies don't suck and have moar ladiez!

I feel like I had more to say about today, but apparently not? I finished a story I am happy with and am now waiting to be able to post it :3 I am also still waiting to hear back about some stories I submitted for publication back in, um, January >.> But I emailed the editor and they haven't been outright rejected yet anyway so I can be patient :V I should also get some feedback o them even if they aren't accepted, so score! I suspect, in fact, that this is probably the main reason for the hold up. I would be incredibly surprised (but pleased) if they were *both* being seriously considered for publication.

Time to go Write More Things! Or maybe fold some laundry >.>

The ugly shoes that everyone forgot about. I still love them - they are ridiculously comfortable and convenient. They make my back and knees happy. And they have new styles that are much less hideous, if no less plastic. If they teamed up with Earth Shoes to make a depressed heel version, I'd be very happy (though that seems incredibly unlikely). I got a new pair of sandals last week, and have been super pleased with them:



In other ugly shoe-news, I think the next pair of footwear I buy will be a set of Vibrams @_@ Apefeet Ahoy! Everyone I know who has them loves them, and no one I know who has tem has yet fallen out of love with them after a year + of ownership...


I have lentil soup on the stove and it smells deeeelicious....

Jodie is the best. She is made of love and solving my issues with money being in the wrong places!

I have a lot of stuff I want to do this evening, so I'm makin' a list. I may check it twice. Probably I will check it more than twice.

In other news, I just ordered a pair of croc mary janes. And to further offend those who think they are the ugliest shoes ever, I bought them in brown :V I was going to get army green, but Laura has a pair in green already and I didn't want to copy :x Also my ankle is feeling better, at least for walking. I went swimming instead of to the regular gym today, and used the pool buoy thing... and then swam a klick using just my arms, go me!

So, anyway, to do:
- get some groceries (I have nothing in my fridge save a mouthful of cheese, a lot of spoiled milk, and a squash)
- make dinner (in that order, see above -_-)
- read more for EWS
- look for more stuff for MM
- put in an extra hour of work so I can pull ahead for when Joel is here
- copy over the last bit of Shadows 10
- maybe start on some new writing.

I also got a slew of things from Amazon today (okay, three), all of which were delivered by separate methods. None of which were what I was expecting :V I'm still short a book for EWS, which I have just ordered for a third time, as I didn't realize the second order was slotted to tahe 4-6 weeks for delivery. Sheesh. In any case, i received the following early birthday presents from my sister!

1: Dagon - movie - delivered by DHL.
2: Pirate hat (!!!) - delivered by normal post (USPS).
3: Call of Cthulhu - silent movie - delivered by UPS.

Awesome. And now, it is time to get me some dinner!

Just to let people know what I'm doing lately - I just had my last class (!! of the degree!!) today, and I handed in my last paper yesterday. I spent the earlier part of today going over my thesis (not done yet, alas -_-) with a fine toothed comb. I will finish that either tonight or tomorrow, and pass out copies to my thesis committee tomorrow, come hell or high water.

Last night, you may have noticed, I spent writing some drables. I also talked to fihsy on Google for well over an hour. Possibly well over two hours - I forget exactly when he called. It was a good relaxing evening.

Tonight, if I am not working on my thesis (or maybe soloing, depending on whether or not Terry wants to give C a chance to rp a bit before she takes off for Fort Smith), I might go out with Dina and maybe some other peeps for post class drinks or something, Or be social in some other exciting way.

I also made a dentist appointment for next Thursday at 8:30. I guess I probably won't need any freezing or anything if I do get any work done, because I won't be conscious anyway ^-^

Also, I caved and ordered those sandals last night. I really want them, I really need another pair of shoes, and there were only two pairs left in my size! D: I have no regrets! They should get here sometime between Friday and Monday :)

In other news I really *really* hate footnotes. Or maybe I just really *really* hate the fact that so many of my sources are so bloody confusing -_- If I had 60$ to kill, I might just by a copy of the Chicago Manual of Style so I could burninate it :p
