I walked the dogs and it was barely spitting. so I thought it would be okay for errands.

of course by the time I got on the bus past the point of no return, it was pouring, and continued to pour -_- So I skipped the library and managed to go to the post office and the campus pharmacy and back before the next bus left. I als got pretty soaked despite my umbrella. My shoes may or may not be dry by the time I need to wear them for work tomorrow -_-

And of course, rain always stirs up my allergies, so my face has been pretty leaky :/

On the other hand, I came home and made a really delicious zucchini soup with the rest of the *monster* zucchini I had, using us some of the turkey broth I made. It is just zucchini, garlic, onion, spices (salt, pepper, ginger) and broth, so quite simple. The only problem I has was that despite holding the top on the blender, it still sprayed all over -_- Someday, I will buy an immersion blender. Someday...

I also managed to sweep the floor and get caught up on Night Vale (eeee!) and am now doing some knitting :)

Called Miss Megan (okay not technically but I like the way is sounds so nyaaaah!) this morning to ask if she could pick me up and take me to pick up my check before we went to the gym, and she said yes, so yay! And then she came and took me to get my check, and neither of us were really in the mood for the gym afterall, so she took me to the bank instead to deposit my check, so extra yaaaay! And then I took her out to lunch instead of having the meh stuff I'd prepared, which i can now have as a side with my fish tonight, so, again, yaaay! And then class got out early and we went to the gym anyway! Again, yaaaaay! *And* she is going to take me to the DMV tomorow so I can a: get a Texas ID and b: see if I can get a learner's permit while she takes care of some business at the nearby social security office . So she is absolutely made of win, and I gave her her birthday present a day early ^-^ So, I have a bunch of stuff to work on tonight: 1: look over the Texas driving handbook - or not - this page is currently offline :V 2: work on my med med presentation a bit 3: do some hours for Filipe, since he sent me some stuff to work on tonight 4: do some laundry for when Joel gets here 5: tidy if not seriously clean parts of the house! Whew! better get started... I think an hour of work, then a break for dinner and laundry is on order :D

I'm having one of those days where I can't accomplish much of anything, or don't feel like anything I do is worth much. I managed to edit close to 15 pages out of the paper I am giving next week, down to 13 from 27. I need to conclude it better, though, and it should only be about 12, or 20 minutes long. It is a thesis chapter with everything not about the Carolinas hacked out. Maybe it will win me a prize, but either way it is a conference paper of sorts. I like my thesis research archaeologically but I've never felt that it is 'mine' enough to present a paper on. It relies too much on compiling stuff form other people's work. Is that an odd thing? Well the history is very solid, regardless.

Apart from that I walked around for two hours running errands, including fetching myself some anti-bee drugs and cashing my insurance check. I got my utility bill in the mail today, so that I can have a better idea about how to budget this, woo-hoo. On Monday I will go get my inhaler prescriptions renewed, and go from there. I need to get up to Petsmart though and get some hammy bedding, desperately. I guess I'm luck that Scallywag doesn't actually pee in his bedding, so I can 'clean' his cage without actually replacing that, but it is full of seeds and poo which is still unpleasant, I'm sure.

Apart from that, I slept in past noon, had a two hour nap between five and seven, and had a two hour bath during which I finished reading Perfume, the Story of a Murderer. I enjoyed it, but I was not overwhelmed by it I don't think. But I would like to state for the record that I Smell Nice, and in fact am more likely to receive compliments about my scent when I am not wearing perfume, which is kind of sad, because I really *like* perfume. Ahh well. The bees are making me all melancholy (whiny) and listless (lazy). I'm going to see about finishing that essay and maybe work on editing some of my other chapters. Or maybe I will work on Pieces, even though the bees are telling me to give up on it again, insert passive aggressive whinging here :p

*sigh* I'm annoying myself.
