A quick update before bed...

I finished The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N. K. Jemisin last week. I somehow missed that yes it is the first part of a trilogy, but it stands perfectly fine on its own, so I'm not flailing too much.

This am I started reading the Night Vale novel (by Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor, of course) and I missed my stop :p So yes it is good! I hear it as narrated by Cecil in my head, which is like getting the audiobook for free ;p

I started knitting socks on the weekend, for me, but I'm improvising the pattern so clearly I have made some grave and frustrating errors. I'm halfway through the first gusset though so I can't complain.

Such is life.

I had to rescue Maze from the dogs this morning - bed outsmarted them and was hiding on a kitchen chair while they were looking downstairs. So when I woke up again later, I got kitty snuggles.

Then the nephews brought my sister and I both breakfast in bed!

So, so far so good, Saturday, but now I have to get up...

I am currently on a train enroute to Toronto with my sister, who very generously offered to take me with her to Fan Expo! We're going for the Saturday only, mostly so she can glory in the presence of Mads Mikkelsen and Gillian Anderson. We're also going to hit up the Q&A with Jason Momoa :)

Other than that, we will wander around and... Stuff I guess! The are some interesting panels, but mostly not tomorrow or at times that conflict with other stuff (no casual taxidermy for us!)

I also plan to check out the Underworld table and say hello to folks there - someday I will get to a game, Damnit!

We are staying with a cousin who I haven't seen in years, but who longpig managed to convert to Fannibalism, so that will also be fun :)
