I found some images of work by the artist from Albuquerque whose $4000 bracelet was being sold on the sidewalk, Aaron Brokeshoulder.

This is a simpler design than the ones I was oggling, but still nice - you can see a hint of the stamped design on the inside.

Okay, I guess thee is just one. Still - shiny!

I would love to have a piece of Ammolite.  I saw a teensy unset or cut polished piece in a store once for about 200$ (if I am remembering correctly).  It is iridescent, the same way labradorite is, only in bright reds, greens, blues and yellows.  I fell in love.  

It is a flake-y stone, though, so it is often set with epoxy and/or (if especially cheap) caped with glass.  Those versions seem to run about 50$ for an unset cut stone.  The really expensive ones, the triplets, are, well, gorgeous but retardedly expensive!
