I saw Thor tonight, and it was hilarious! And generally good, though I feel like they underused Bruce and introduced some things that will probably never come up again, because that's how it goes in Marvel: only the team movies have real consequences.

I also did a bunch of dishes.

I cleaned the 3Dprinter at work, which was an interesting adventure in taking things apart. It still isn't working, though. It was close... I was running it's test print, and it seemed to be going okay... But literally the minute I looked away from it,it failed. Of course


I did a bunch of other things, though, so hey.

Making a cake tomorrow, after baby bedtime, for a birthday on Thursday. Chocolate almond and cherry with boiled icing, I'm thinking...

I should be in bed. I'm pretending I posted this on Saturday.

I finished my gloves! All the ends are woven, and I made the caps for the fingers. I have also started my shawl, which is my next big non-portable project. It has 14 charts with tiny print and my eyes are already rebelling. I'm using the pinky/orange handspun I got for Christmas 2015, at last for art of it, I want the colours to be sunset/sunrise-y, s I have a purple to join on the end of this if I run out.

This was also a good media day! I finished watching Voltron (pls squee/flail with me in the comments!), and went to see Hidden Figures this afternoon, which was very good.

I also went out for dinner, after some running (well, driving) around trying to find a place that didn't have an almost 30 min wait. This is what happens when you go out on a Saturday without making reservations. Do I think we could have been seated and eating at our first choice if we'd just stuck it out there instead of trying to find somewhere else? Probably, yes. Though the place we wound up at was a very nice little diner. I would go there again, but it was definitely not what we'd initially had in mind. I'm still stuffed.

Now I should really go to bed. Tomorrow is going to be a strange day.

So I backed the Reading Rainbow Kickstarter yesterday because.... Reading Rainbow, fuck yeah!

So I have been getting the backer updates (only 2 so far) which have mostly been sort of excited flaily disbelief. I think LeVar Burton almost cried in the first little video.

I think the second one (both were written by the RR CEO) could have used a second pair of eyes though... It seems to be missing a word:

"My wife, Jane, heads up Customer Service for Reading Rainbow, and wants you to know that our email problems should be fixed by tomorrow. She won't let me come until I tell you that, because she feels horrible that we haven't been able to respond to more of you."

In other news, I went and say Days of Future Past! \o/ It was fun!

There was an ad at the beginning from a bunch of male Hollywood actors talking about THE IMPORTANCE OF CONSENT! \o/ And men being responsible! It was a don't be a rapist video and it was lovely! \o/ It warmed my heart, it did :)

Then there was the trailer for the fake cops movie, which was utterly disgusting. Two bro cop-impersonators whose faces light up at the thought of 'intervening' in a domestic violence instance involving three young women? Disgusting. But oh ho, the tables are *hilariously* turned on our hapless wanna be white knights because two of them aren't even pretty - they are large and angry and violent, ha ha ha *puke*. Disgusting! /o\

But the movie was fun!

And now I need to go to bed. G'night!

Okay I don't have any specific good news really - I'm leaving to go see Julie in less than a week though! Hooray! I think I am juuuuust about as ready as I can be for Underworld - there are a few things I need to finish/pick up still, but nothing the weekend can't resolve. I do need ti fins someone who can check in on Maze while I'm away though, or take him in if they are willing.

As for god news... Not a real god, I'm afraid, but I did get to play Scion twice this week, which is always fun, even if we continue to suffer from Chupacabrus interruptus :V I am less sure if/when I'll get to run my storyline at this point, but it will keep, and really it is because I am going to be off doing awesome things, so I really can't complain :V I have had some cool character/story thoughts also that are keeping me content :D Also there were tiny kittens! And I cuddled them mightily! And it as awesome :D <3


Ohgodswhywouldyoudothattome - Hazel and Jodie sort of tricked me into watching The Human Centipede last night. It is a horrible film. It is a horror film, so that is apt. It is the first i have seen in a loooong damn time that was actually disturbing. when I say it is bad, I don't mean, like Pumaman bad, or battlefield earth bad, I mean more like Cannibal Holocaust bad. It is right royally fucked up and probably not fit for human consumption. Sure, there are mockable parts earlier on, but it is not that kind of film. And, dear gods, they're making a sequel. I actually had dreams about this film last night, as I was foolish enough to watch it before bed, but my subsoncious apparently felt the need to do some damage control, and they were somehow not actually nightmares, and my brain gave me more opportunities for escape. Also, a weiner-dog centipede, which was, really kind of just sad and hilarious.

Good news - heard back from my accomodations in HI, and all is well on that end - hooray! Now I just need to get my permit :x

I just saw it, It is really hard to talk about without giving away spoilers, but it is amazing. The story is complex and engrossing, the acting excellent, the cinematography and direction are superb. It succeeded in doing something I always liked in Unbreakable, which is that the movie seamlessly tells you what cues to be watching for to interpret what is going on, and these things are evident in the direction. I guess they sort of do it in The Matrix, but with much less subtlety and class.

It is brain melting in a very good way, and it had better win some damned awards.

WALL•E: A Butch/Femme Love Story... or Silly Rabbit! Robots Have No Gender

...I haven't seen it though :x

Yarr, me and my power walking ways were able to still bookit all around the almost three miles from the drop off point on the bus route to the intersection with a crosswalk, back track to go to *two* sporting goods/outdoor equipment stores (should have followed my instincts and just gone to Gander Mountain first, although I'd never been in there), and still get to the theater well on time for the movie. I didn't think I was going to make it, and spend a lot of time cursing College Station. The whole adventure was over 4 miles of speed walking, if you count trying (succeeding) to make the 5:40 bus to get back, and the slower paced meander back from HEB. Slightly slower, anyway - I was kind of on a role with rushing at that point. I needed salt, also, so I bought a bag of salt and pepper kettle cooked chips at HEB and ate them all. I could barely taste the salt, but so much for the calories I might have burned during my jaunt! Still I think it demonstrates a pretty decent level of fitness...

Then I got in, took down my tent (which was blowing around all over the place - I'm glad I set it up where I did, as it was basically trapped between two buildings and a fence), and sat down to breathe a bit. And then I took Jola for a relatively short walk. I think she'll forgive me, all things considered ;p Afterwards was a shower that accidentally began with a bath. My feet were literally *black* in places. And since then, puttering.

Still! I have tent pole kit thing (I bought two but will bring one back eventually). It will do exactly what I need once one of the segments has a bit of a heart to heart with a hacksaw, which I hope I can borrow from the department.

I also saw the Hulk! It was smashy fun!

I also just took cinnamon blueberry biscuits out of the oven! Just this very second! I will commence the consumption forthwith. And then take it easy...

Oh! I am going to get paid for Buttermilk! So, extra score! :D

In general, my day got better after I got home. I had a few low moments but stuff sorted itself out and i had a good time, even if my original plans fell through :)
