I dunno if Megan will be around to see this, but regadless... I'll call her for advice tomorrow.

Samson is being an utter little shit and refusing to come out from under my couch when it is time to go to his kennel at night (or rather out to pee before going to his kennel at night).

To get him out I have to litterally lift the couch *and* chase him out from underneath it.

This is a pain in the ass not only because it means dog scolding and furniture rearranging late at night, but because only two of three couch legs are actually firmly attached. The fourth leg is in a drawer somewhere since the screw to attach it is missing (possibly lost insode the couch), and that side is propped up by books. The unstable leg supports weight okay when set up properly but will fall off if, say, I have to move the couch EVERY GODDAMNED NIGHT to acces a pissy little puffball with delusions of importance >:| Of course this is the leg in the back corner right against the book case, so that getting to it requires me moving the papasan as well and is still hard to get at >:|

My plan was to just take the other couch legs off and leave it flat on the floor, but this apparently won't work because the screws are more firmly attached to the wood than the feet. Oh also this will leave the couch ridiculously low and my tv tray for my laptop will become unusably high.

So, I'm in a cranky cranky mood, and Samson is, so to speak, in the dog house. Grrr >:| Every other time I've dog sat him he's been an angel, even with Jola here.

Long term solution is tto work on re-training him to come. Apparently he decided not so long ago to stop coming when called. How lovely. I love going to bed pissy! And waking up to a broken couch! Hooray!

Expect rationality in the morning :p

1: a new pair of crocs. yeah. All my shoes are in the closet now. in fact I was in the middle of putting them all away when the damage was done. *sigh* next payday.

2: A real vacuum cleaner. My little one just isn't going to cut it. She sheds a lot.

3: A keyboard cover for my laptop. See above re: shedding

4: A car. Not an issue yet, but I suspect it is only a matter of time :p

5: A yard. This would be nice, however there are a lot of parks around, so we'll be okay :)

Those are the big ones, for now, anyway. I could also use some more toys for her - I want either a good nylabone or a kong or both.

ETA 6: A wireless router. I knew there was something else!

I realize that it has been a while since I posted anything resembling a real update. I am still n Toronto, though I leave here on the 31st for Greenville. i have not yet found a place in Texas, but I will probably just grab a spot in the Mexican Prison, as tsiankiio called it, as it is apparently convenient to most things and that's about as good as I can expect when I am trying to find housing site unseen. I have yet to pick a moving company, either. Today, ISS should get the letter they need from the Anthropology department and continue processing the transfer of my I-20 form, which is good because the time in which I have to retrieve it is rapidly diminishing.

In other news, I am *nearly* finished Ice, and since I am at Hazel's today waiting for a delivery for her, I am hoping to finish it today. At hat point, I will post it over at measured_words, wait for comments (hope for them, anyway), and then probably e-mail it off to Apex (a sci-fi/horror mag) to see if they are interested. If not, I'll poke around at some other places, but if anyone has suggestions for other places I could send it, I'm all ears. It is best fit into the horror genre, though. ETA: Screw that, I'm trying here first :V

I'm still having a great time in the city, hanging out with Rob and Hazel. Ceiridwen flies in today, and Rob and I are meeting her at the airport at seven, possibly followed by pizza once we get her settled in. Rumor is coming in sometime tomorrow, though alas I will still not get to meet his woman. Then on Monday, I am going up to Montreal for a few days (until Thursday, I believe). I'll be happy to see the Popomalises again, and hopefully some other Montreal folk. I've also only ever been to Montreal once before and didn't get to see much of it, so this should be fun. Also, I know Ceiridwen and I travel well together, so I am sure good times will be had.

I really want to get a dog when I am in Texas. I am going to check out the shelters and such in College Station when I get there, but if I can't find anyone I like there, I am also considering a mini Daschund. I actually don't want a puppy, so I may contact some breeders and see if they have any older dogs past their prime or unadopted/purchased younger (but past the puppy stage) ones. I'm told that such dogs are often a: already trained and b: relatively cheap. Otherwise I can probably find a 'pet quality' mini weiner for around 300$. But shelters first! I am a big fan of adopting used dogs - it always worked out for my mom, anyway, overlooking the times Elsa peed on my bed and when she almost bit Steve -_- If I were allowed larger dogs i might just steal one from my aunt ;) One of my cousins left a really sweet Doberman/Boxer cross with her. Such a sweetie, and she is pretty well trained and probably not *too* spoiled yet :V Anyway. I want a dog.

I guess there isn't really too much to report! I have also been doing lots of gaming, and I bought the graphic Novel for Arsenic lullabye the other day at the Harry Tarantula. This pleases me greatly.

Today I am going to write, and steal Hazel's Lordi. Rar!
