Thanks to everyone who congratulated me on finishing my thesis! I handed in a copy to Dr. Ewen today and he said that I should go ahead and distribute it to the rest of my committee members. I think that I am going to wait and go through it really carefully once myself after having a bit of time away from it. My paper for Dr. Stewart is due next Tuesday, which is sooner than I'd thought (or hoped -_-). I think Dr. S will give me some leeway - I keep thinking today is Thursday, so I do have about a week, and even with all my gaming I should be able to manage fine as I have absolutely nothing else. Anyway. Once that is done, I print the thesis and nitpick it, and then I give it to pl like Carl and Dr. D and Dr. Babits. I am going to e-mail the rest of my committee with this info tomorrow.

I am quite glad to have gotten it mostly finished though, and think that staying up all night/day was definitely worth it in most ways. I have generally had a good day:

Had IHOP breakfast with [livejournal.com profile] tsiankiio which I hadn't seen in a damned long time, saw Dina at the history lab, passed in the thesis, picked up a package at the post office at a leisurely pace, had some frickin' tasty Indian buffet where the two waiters around were fighting over each other to see that I was happy and well supplied :), survived the Class Of Really Bad Puns without throttling Wilson or Dr. Stewart, and came home and crashed out dead for two ours.

On the other side of things:

My shoulder is still really sore from the fact that I have no possible good arrangement of desk/monitor/keyboard mouse. Fixing my appendices required a lot of minor mindless mouse clicking. In fact, sitting here I can already feel the stabbing pain coming back. I kept my wrist well bound so it's okay, but I have a patch of numbness along the outside of my right thumb. I really think I pinched a nerve. I know from my very basic reflexology that this is the area associated with the spine, reinforcing my 'pinched nerve in the shoulder area' theory. Boo. Also, I had to wait outside Dr/ E's office for nearly an hour before I could get to see him, though I eventually discovered that I *did* have my ipod, which made me much less restless. However my legs were all tingly/asleep and made me wonder if I don't have some greater circulation issue :p I could probably just use some more red meat or something similar. I plan to take tonight off the computer, for the most part (I'm sure you are all either shocked or you don't believe me ;p). Additionally, for some reason I rushed through my Indian lunch and ate to much bread so that I couldn't even finish once plate! Is it proper to forgo the utensils and just eat everything by scooping with bits of flat bread? Because that sure seemed like the most *delicious* way of eating. The food was not hot, this being Greenville, but it was still spicy and delicious. It was still difficult to waddle out of there. Finally, I am really really surprised that I only slept for 2 hours just now. Probably for the best that I just had a little nap and then just go to bed early later on, but man. I have no idea what I *am* going to be able to do tonight, as I am still quite braindead.

I guess I can watch house, and maybe a movie or something, hmmm :) Overall, except for the physical bits (I also really need to get one of my teeth filled) it was a very good day.

it is compulsory to scoop up a balti with a considerable quantity of peshwari naan, anything else is both bad and wrong

oh and hurrah again :D

Yeah, that is what I figured. I think the fact that I only eve really looked at the given utensils after I was pretty much too stuffed to shove any more delicious naan down my gullet is one of the reasons the waiters were so excited.... Everyone else was usin' forks ;) I wish I'd ben able to eat more, damnit, it was sooo good!

Also, thanks again :)

However in most of the UK it is also compulsory to drink at least 8 pints of Scruttocks Old Nasty before attending the curry house and for at least one of your party to spend the whole meal face down on the table mumbling into their napkin. This could be a regional deviation from standard practice though :)
