I've got 4 days to be done this chapter by my deadline. Once I'm through with it, I will send it and Barcadares to Dr E. I will give him very specific guidelines about what I am looking for input on for Barcadares. Then I can mess around with Nevis background stuff, and maybe write my Introduction while I am waiting to get stuff fro Meniketti.

I did get a lot of stuff done today, even if I didn't get much written. I'm still having a hell of a time with this transition, and I think it is partly just because it is awkward and there isn't much I can do to tie things together. I wrote *something* though, and I can look it over in the morning and see what I think then. probably i will think it is crap, and scrap this like I scrapped everything else. bah. i didn't get around to looking at the Carl comments in more detail, either. Too easily distracted.

I did find out that we have no books on Nevis. None! Crazy.

Of course, it isn't the fact that they were charged that amuses me (although I understand the reasons for it, kinda), just the fact that they were doing it at all.

Well, no game again this week. *sigh* Well, That's okay, I've got Exia tomorrow, *and* I can go to Michelle's tonight. Man, it is amazing how many plans I made for this weekend that subsequently fell through :p

I'm not complaining, really, though it would have been awesome if they had all occurred on different weekends and actually all happened so that I could have done them all! Of course that would also mean having money, so hmmm...

I think I am really most disappointed about missing the dance workshop in Raleigh :/

In other news, I have bees but am almost of of pain killers ;_;

So here I am at home, casually going about my own business and working on thesis stuff... I decided that I was happy *enough* with the conclusion I wrote last night and have moved on to making corrections in my earlier chapters from Carl's comments.

Suddenly, I hear a little 'click' as something fall on to my keyboard from somewhere... The ceiling? Maybe? I look at it more closely and... it s a *tick*!!! There was a tick in my house, on my ceiling and if it had slightly better aim it could have fallen on my head! I probably wouldn't have even noticed it.

I don't like ticks, but I can handle them if I expect them. I did not expect a tick on my keyboard and now I'm all paranoid about where it came from, and that maybe there are other ticks in my ceiling and they will find a way to get me. Hooray for irrationality!

I am going to make some lunch. And check for ticks.

(PS it was a dog tick, For The Google Tells Me So.)

As I mentioned in an earlier post today, I am finished my fourth chapter. I may even be finished four chapters, I'm not sure. I'm going to send two more to Dr E after I have another chance to revise them. I figured that if I did so after I've been revising stuff from Carl's comments, I'll be in a more observant frame of mind, and in a better mental state to pick up on stylistic issues. I have also realized that Carl is not a perfect grammatician: he insists that I must capitalize the first letter after a colon, when in fact it is not necessary. And I don't like it so I'm not changing them ;) I have revised the grammatical points of my history chapter, and now I need to add a little bit more material. This will require actually picking up a few books from the library and maybe going through the sources I have accumulated here to talk about some South Carolina stuff. And I can use that for my PAT paper for Dr. D later too ;)

This means that I have one chapter close to its final version! Barring Dr. D requiring any massive changes, in any case. And Babits, but I expect that once it's been put through the ringer by everyone else, he isn't going to have much to complain about. I'm hopin' anyway :)

I think I will take a break from this stuff now, and work on writing other stuff. If I do go back to thesising, though, I promise I will just edit this entry instead of making a whole new one - I have spammed my flist enough today ;) Also, I am making stew again, a bigger pot, and it smells damned delicious! Right now it is in the stage where it is edible, but I am boiling down the liquid content to thicken it. Mmmm, stew! I might make dumplings, but I have no butter or margarine :/
