So! It is Christmas day! I had a nice quiet Christmas at not-home, and got a ton of things that are mostly book. I got 7 books (one is more of a booklet, but it came with a CD of Insmouth Sea Shanties)! Also a swift and some hand-quilted ornaments! And I think some other things on the way as well - at least one other thing, anyway!

I will make a squeeful Yuletide Post later, probably in my writing journal proper. This might be the year that I try to make a proper recs post! maybe. There are some things that I definitely want to make sure people read!

Hem! Anyway! I was asked (by fishmalk) about stories from my misguided youth that you might not know about. Actually I am going to tell you a story from my fairly explicitly guided youth - a story from my Sea Cadet days!

Charlotte and I are friends by not friends. i actually like the airport quite a lot. But every time I have a connection here, something goes wrong :/ This time it was bad weather - at least mediocre weather - out of detroit. We were a little late getting boarded (but barely), and then we had to get deiced and so on. We got in to Charlotte at 5:48. by the time I actually got off the plane it was 6:05. Which is when my plane was *leaving*, let alone when it was finishing boarding -_-

Anyway, they at least knew we were running late, so they had already gotten those of us who were not making our connections rebooked. So now I'm waiting for my new flight, which boards at 7;55 local time and leaves at 8:25. And get in to Houston, in theory, at 10:15. The shuttle from Houston is supposed to leave at 10:30... I have called and told them the situation, and this is the few times not having a cell phone bites me in the butt, because I can't just call and let them know when I hit the ground :/

So....we'll see what happens. At least I know people in Houston? Hrm.

I came in to pick some stuff up and print some stuff out for my trip, only to find that Cemal noticed some errors on the cards I printed out the other day - serves me right, and also, doesn't surprise me :p So now I have to futz around with them *and* print out more and junk the ones I'd already done up. Booo ;_;

I guess what I'll do is go run some other errands (I need to get the batter in my watch replaced, for instance), and come back this afternoon after lunch and some TFA with Buck and maybe Sas if she's around. I can print stuff out later too.
