elanya: Sumerian cuneiform 'Dingir' meaning divine being/sky/heaven (Rapture)

Lunacy

This is the moon from tonight. The semicircle underneath it isn't a lens flare, unless it was a Divine lens flare. Or someone put JJ Abrams in charge of lighting the sky. When I first saw it - taking out Jola - the ring went all the way around in a perfect circle. It was amazing. I wish I could have got a better picture, but my lense isn't wide enough, and by the time I got the settings figured out, this was all that was left.

There was a ring like that around the moon at the Labour Day event.

Awesome! I wonder what causes it?

Suspended ice crystals.

BAHAAHAHAHAHAHA.

The moon was still pretty this morning, too! So giant.

I saw something like this once, it's absolutely mesmerising. Not that uncommon at this time of year on a full moon, but we didn't get it this month sadly.

It's just a very high thin layer of cirrus clouds. Ice crystals, as was mentioned.

Nice! I've never seen that.
