The short answer, as those of you who know my travel luck is, of course, "no."
I was suppose to be there about an hour ago now, but as LJ can tell you, i am in fact in Florida, waiting for my connection, now slated to depart at 10 PM eastern. Ahh well, I'll get there eventually :) If only I'd realized earlier that they have free wireless here! Then I probably wouldn't have finished my book and done some writing!
Some amusing things: The plane I was on from Houston to Fort Lauderdale had no seat 13. this confused some people, though I'm not sure they ever exactly figured out why they were in row 15 and not 14.
All the flights to the Bahamas leaving from here today have been a giant clusterfuck. one plane utterly died, I think, and there have been miscellaneous other delays. Ah least there aren't rumours going about that my flight has been canceled! I hope, anyway ;)
My diet regime is going okay. I should say that i am still eating fish and seafood, just not meat except on Fridays ;) i almost broke it the other day when i went for Chinese with
earis, but while I ordered a met dish, I didn't actually eat any of the meat ;) I'm not sure if I should call what i am doing a 'diet', because the purpose isn't to lose weight, though that may happen. It is more a combination of a test of self control, and also to make me pay attention to what i'm puting into my body, and make myself eat more veggies. So far, i should note that it is pretty easy to still eat a lot of things that are bad for you, even as a quasi vegetarian ;) Yum apple turnovers! And doughnuts! I say quasi vegetarian on a few accounts: I still eat, and enjoy delicious meats, I eat fish and seafood, and I am not going out of my way to avoid anything made with meat products. so far today i have had; an apple turnover, a bean burrito, and a tuna sandwich. I was worried that i would be thwarted by crappy airport food, and I nearly was. Yay for burrito chains though!
That is al for now - perhaps I will update again tonight when i get in, depending on circumstances I wish it wasn't going to be so late so I could feel like I had a bit of time to adjust myself before I go to the archives tomorrow. Ahh well - I shall persevere ^-^
ETA: I made a list the other day talking to
earis about my travel plans for the next year or so. How mad does this all sound?
Definite trips:
Bahamas now
Alberquerque for SHA (January)
St Andrews for Mary and Rogan's wedding (Fall 2008)
Probable trips:
Toronto for Muffcon (August)
France for Xmas (Xmas, duh)
Bahamas again next year for more research assuming it all goes well this trip! (summer)
Miramichi for Hazel and Ian's wedding (August 2008, only 'probable' because they aren't 100% sure yet it will be next year)
Possible trips:
Vancouver for SAA (March)
So... yeah. O_O And if I'm really clever the France trip will also involve a stop in London for research...

I really hope you can come for Christmas - it would be fun, I promise my family aren't scary, and maybe I could hit up London with you if I have any holiday left...
