More whining about having nothing to do!

The weekend is over. I did nothing. I didn't even get dressed, really, just lazed about the whole time in a sarong. Never left the house. Saturday I hardly left my bedroom or bed. I dragged my laptop in there to watch Battlestar Galatica, as I can set things up there for watching fairly easily. I watched all the rest of the second season over the weekend, and I re-read one of my Terry Pratchett books. I also did some one-off writing projects, visible over at [livejournal.com profile] measured_words.

This morning I was supposed to go in for an International Student Orientation thing, but I forgot to check my schedule this morning and missed it.

Today, I need to get out of the house. I need to make myself get dressed. I have things I need to get and no idea where to get them. I could go out wandering, except that it gets so stupidly hot here, and I don't know that i'm up for that. So I'll just go back to the grocery store and buy some stuff for baking, maybe, as someone has put into my head the desire to make scones. And maybe I'll read more. I will write more, of course. Blah. Blaaaaaah!

As an aside, this is really one of my favourite songs ever.

Okay, getting dressed and such now. Then going out. Yes.

I need to find a best buy or equivalent so that I can get a crossover adapter or cord, and a new usb drive :/

I'm not sure where in town things are, either. The bus routes are not labelled very helpfully, if they even go where I need :p

Help would be helpful :D

Best Buy is on the east side of campus off Texas, in between George Bush and oh grr... the road Northside is on... in the same parking lot as Barnes and Noble, but on the other end. Basically it's across from the front of campus. I don't know what route it would be.

You could get a crossover cable at a local Radio Shack or Source and you'd probably find it cheaper. This is an illogical result until you realize that Best Buy (and Future Shop) has leveraged its brand recognition and phased out lower priced options in order to boost profit margins. Essentially, since everyone goes to them anyway, why not feed them only the more expensive stuff (while convincing them that it's worth the extra money for non-existent output benefits)?

Uh, so, rant aside, try any local electronics store, if it's closer or more convenient.

Also, that actually sounds like a pretty nice weekend. ;D

It is mostly an issue of convenience, but I've actually found the oute that will take me to the mall now, so I'll go out there tomorrow and have a look around :)
