It would be really cool to have a character in some context who has almost died and as a result lost an eye.... Only instead of having a glass or otherwise fake eye, or an eye patch, they have filled the socket with a coin.

More or less uncomfortable than losing an eye? I expect the skin would start to grow back around the edges, and then it woudl be like an eyeplate kind of thing.... :D

You'd have to put some sort of filler behind it to keep it from falling in/tilting/falling out/whatever. Also it wouldn't be very sanitary, I imagine it would start to tarnish pretty quick.

It WOULD look cool though

I still think it would be uncomfortable. My cousin married a man with a class eye and sometimes it bugged him and it was a sphere...................

did he lose the eye because he was not ver sanitary?? that would make sense why he replaced the eye with a coin :-P

It could be worse - he could fill it with a pine cone... or a flying squirrel.
