Well, I just found out somethign that is somewhat depressing tonight... Well, bad news for me, and goodnews for <ljuser=longpig>, anyway.

When I go back to Canada, I'm goign to be moving to Waterloo to live with my fiance (Joel! yay!) and a friend of ours. We've already got a place, and Scott has either already left, or is leaving very soon. However, the lease is very very clear on one thing. ABSOLUTELY no pets. Which means that I don't get my willa babies back :(

No poo, actually. It will be one minor advantage :(

It's still worth asking the landlord or building manager once you get there whether small, caged pets are allowed. Many buildings put a "no pets" clause in the lease, but are actually more flexible in practice. The clause is just there to ensure that A) someone with 6 rottweilers doesn't move in or B)if a pet causes some kind of problem, they have a legal leg to stand on to make you get rid of the pet. You really should ask - the worst thing they can say is 'no'.

Oh, no, apparently the lease is very very clear on this, along the lines of "Absolutely no pets. No cats, no dogs, no animals whatsoever, no lizards, no hamsters, etc."

Bleh.

And absolutely, under no conditions, may you keep caged animals in the house, and hide the cage in a closet should the landlord ever actually come for a visit. Because that would be naughty.

It would have to be a big closet... their cage is 3 feet high by 2 feet deep and wide :o

I still think it's worth your time to ask. They can't kick you out for asking whether you can have a pet. :p

Yeah, it never hurts to ask. We're 'absolutely not supposed to have pets" here either... and how many animals have we got living here?

I suppose... I'll get Joel to do it though, since he's the one who actually signed the lease, adn can do it by phone, which is closer to 'in person' than I can get ^-^
