I made it home yesterday after a few minor adventures. One was an adventure in waiting anxiously to hear whether or not I'd make the standby list to get to Houston (I did). The other was in trying to contact my friend Will, who offered to drive me home. I wound up borrowing cell phones from two random strangers, whee! Still, between accidents he encountered on the highway and some communication glitches regarding where I would be waiting, it was almost 9:30 or so by the time we left Houston. Possibly later. I only got in around 11:30 or so, though we did stop for food, too.

As soon as I got it, I prioritized my animals. Yes, animals plural! First I checked my messages to see if there was anything form Cheryl and Shaun, who had Jola. They said I could arrange to get her back this morning, so I'm going to cal them after ten. Yay puppy! The other animal is belryan's kitten whose name is in something of a state of flux, because Penelope is probably not a great name for uh, him -_-. However, he *answers* to Penelope, so.... I call him alternately Penelope, Pépé, Kitty, Dude, and Penny. he's been alone all of yesterday and was very happy for human contact! I brought him and his things over, and I'm hoping that with a night to get accustomed to the house, he'll d better when Jola gets here. We'll see how that goes! I have a babygate that i can ue to isolate a couple of rooms if I need to keep them apart for the relief of either party, though, so I'm hopeful.

He is a super sweet kitty though. He kept me in bed for an extra 45 min this morning because he was being all cuddly and purring. Now he's tearing around the place looking for mischief!

In other news, I am going to try and start rating my itunes music so I can cull some from bands who have some things I like and other things I'm not really all that in to. I have waaaaay way too much Skinny Puppy and Death in June. And Iron and Wine :p

Today I need to:
get my dog
get groceries
M&M (I think?)
tidy house more
writing
finish finding articles and mail Dr. H

I know a lot of people who are traveling today (including dad and Jennifer!)

I hope it all goes smooth! But even if it doesn't, just remember the mantra: "At least I didn't get deported...."
