I'm not the pie queen that my sister is. However I really wanted squash pie last weekend for thanksgiving. Due to my workload, however, I had to delay. Instead I made pie today! I just cut the first piece. I is okay, but a bit thin/watery. I halved the recipe, but I think I didn't put in enough eggs. I think that halving this recipe needs three whole eggs, not the 2 1/2 I tried to estimate (I needed a half egg for the crust as well, and thought it would work out :p). Or maybe the squash itself was too watery - I'm not sure :/ Better luck next time!
I did, however, cook just the right amount of squash and had exactly the right amount of custard, and I think my crust is quite good as well. I usually roll it a bit too think, but it all turned out this time :)
In other news, I watched the third episode of Heroes, the new NBC show (on Sci-Fi), last night, and was pretty impressed. There are a lot of characters and plotlines, and some very pretty people. I am currently yubbing the first two eps so that I can catch up what I've missed.
It has Adrian Pasdar, running for (mayor?) D: But he has a brother... I still can't think of anything but Profit :o
I also really like the new Decemberists album, which i should properly own probably on Monday or Tuesday ;)
