I haven;'t done one of these in a while, have I? Well, trust me, things really have been progressing. I did take Saturday off, and I didn't get quite as much done yesterday as I would have liked, but I got through a fair amount of material tonight. I think I am nearing the end of this chapter. Then I will have to dig up more material on Port Royal to insert in the beginning. All I really want to find is something explaining what the initial aims of the investigation wee. Come on guys, that has to be published *somewhere * :p The rest of the bits I need I can scavenge for other places. Right now, the chapter is just over eleven pages double spaced, and I can't see it going much beyond thirteen. I guess that'll be okay...

I want to be more or less done with this by the end of the month, if not the end of the week, leaving me the Nevis stuff, the intro, and the conclusion to write next month/April. Nevis probably won't be any longer than Barcadares, which is 17 pages now, and that includes tables. I wish I had comments back from Carl and Dr/ D. I should check my box at Brewster, I suppose.

What other thesis-y comments do I have to make? None at the moment, I guess. Well, I'm going to go read about viking ships, and then come back to do...something. Tomorrow I need to finish photocopying microfilm stuff, and write up my Skuldelev stuff. Ergh. I guess that will be the 'something' that I come back and work on tonight.

Tomorrow I have to:
Do the rest of the readings for Stewart's class
Take necessary notes from the Skuldelev book, and any other useful books at Eller.
Print everything else I need from the Meniketti microform.
Prepare the bulk of my Skuldelev presentation (powerpoint, outline, bibliography)
Try to conclude this thesis chapter so that all it needs is Port Royal.

I think that's all I *need* to do... At least I have something I can take for lunch.

I need to stop being so dead tired all the time. I need a more regular sleep schedule.

Raisin oatmeal with yogurt and banana isn't too much to wrote home about, maybe, but it is probably good for me. Once I finish the bowl, I'll go shower. I slept an hour more than necessary already. Someone remind me that if you catch me napping. Remind me of how much I have to do today, and this week generally.

So I got my letter from Texas today. And it says pretty much exactly the same thing as the e-mail, except that it is from a different person. So, that is to say that doesn't actually offer me any incentive to go there. So what do i do next? E-mail the guy back and say "look, if I am going to horribly indebt myself to get a PhD, it isn't going to be in Texas, so cough up an actual offer?" That seems a little extreme. I mean, it has always been my *assumption* that they tend to make these offers when they send out the acceptance letter, and that it wouldn't be the sort of thing they only tell you after. On the other hand, my records show that that's how ECU did it. I guess I will e-mail them, but I'm just not really sure what to say.

Meh.

It's been a meh week. Oh, wait, it's only Tuesday.
