I'm at school. I had to come in early to see Dr P about the marking I did. I am supposed to go in in about half an hour to return them. They were actually pretty good this time around, escape goats nonwithstanding.

I managed to get a lot of stuff done yesterday, although not all, or even most of it, was school related. I did go through my lecture, and even though I panicked when I realized that it was all in outline form,I could still remember pretty much all of it. I'll go over it again tomorrow. I also made and mailed a bunch of Valentines. If you want one, you need to reply to my earlier post. I made biscuits, revised and posted a story section, bought some stuff... It seemed like there was more to it at the time. I guess i read aboutcogs and such. I've also realized that one of my ILL books is almost a month overdue... But I need it ;_; I really don't want to give it back. I suppose I can get a bunch of it photocopied, and I do have notes. I think I'll lie and say I misread/misremembered the month it was due ;) That'll give me another week, anyway. I'm naughty! But hell, who else would need it? :p

Today I am going to go and see Dr. Ewen about the Nevis stuff, and go grab some cog stuff from the library, maybe. I have dance tonight and... I guess that is about it for plans. All in all this has not been my most productive weekend, and I hope that I can pick myself up and get back to the pace I was working at before. I can start looking at the Skuldelev ships for my presentation later this month too, I expect, and maybe do readings for Maritime Hist&Arch of Europe.

I really am just killing time for the moment. pardon my mental disorganization. In other news my back is *killing* me today. My computer chair is pretty much destroyed, form a year+ of my not being able to sit like a normalk person. The back is completely useless, and the seat's padding is smooshed into uselessness. I can't afford a new one, and I waiver on whether or not it would be a worthwhile investment anyway. I do spend a lot of time at my computer, but I'd only have it for a few months.... I suppose it is moot at this point anyway, but it is distressing how *nice* it is to sit in the lab chair. I wonder if anyone would notice if I yoinked one? ;) The answer is yes, of course, heh.

Meh, still another 20 min to kill. Maybe I'll e-mail Dr. Ewen and make sure he will be in today, and find out exactly when.

In more random commentary, I am trying a new conditioner, and though it has some crap in it that I usually try to avoid, it is designed for hair which is greasier at the roots and dry at the tips and I am so far quite pleased with the results. It's one of the Aussie products, but I can't remember the exact name.

Also, I haven't heard anything back from UCl again. If I can find the time, I am just going to re-do my proposal with some more specifics and see what he thinks. Maybe I will take it by Dr. Richards first, maybe :p

Okay, I did just hear back from UCL. I was trying to decide if I should poke them or what. But continued communication is important. I guess Dr. F was discussing it with other people over there. I'm going to look over what I'd written a bit and see what I can narrow down, and then I am going to talk to Dr. Ewen around 2 or 2:30... he said he'd be in later in the afternoon, that he has read my stuff, and that he is looking forward to discussing stuff with me.. I hope it is good. I hope I can use Nevis, but I'm going to have to e-mail the guy whose work it actually was to see if I can get more details, if I can. eek! It isn't a maritime site, but I don't know of anywhere that is, specifically... :/ Anyway, now I am all full of nervous excitement :o

I had a productive meeting this afternoon. Dr Ewen seemed very impressed with my writing, except for one phrase which he refered to as 'typical master's thesis language'. He's right, it is kind of awkward... He was mostly just amused by it ^-^. I go through and fix it up, and then e-mail my other proffs to see if they want to see it chapter by chapter, or just wait until it is all done. I know they don't all have oodles of time. Dr. Dudley has been extremely overworked lately :/

I am at Eller to do readings for tomorrow, which means that I a: don't have to come in here eearly tomorrow, and b: don't have to go home, and then turn right around to go to my dance class. Hoo-zoo!

I am hoping to get productive work done later tonight as well, either on thesis of my UCL proposal. I'm in a working kind of mood, and I can only hope that it lasts.

Cheers all :)

Palindrome date!

I got comments back from Dr. E on my chapters to date, and we discussed what I need to do with my artifact categories, etc. I was hoping to go through some more of that stuff tonight, but after dance class, I am just too bloody tired. I also talked to the ILL people about keeping hold of my Sullivan for now, we shall see how that goes. It is almost a month overdue, but they haven't gotten any nasty letters demanding it back, so the lady told me to hold onto it while they try to get a copy from another source. Devious, that! I am thinking about reducing my number of thesis chapters by one, and just including my Nevis stuff in the same chapter as Barcadares. That would leave me with one more full chapter to write, plus intro and conclusions, and give me four chapters total, plus intro and conclusion. Right now I have about 60-65 pages of text, and the whole shebang would probably wind up being about 100 plus whatever appendices I include.

In other school news, I think I will talk to Annie and Dr. Stewart about trading presentations, if I can in fact do a paper on the Bremen Cog. This means giving up my presentation on transporting horses by boat during the crusades, but I think I can probably live with that.

I am dead bloody tired. I will finish the rest of my readings for tomorrow, and go to bed early. I need to go over my lecture notes for Wednesday tomorrow, among other things.
