Apparently LJ is blocking crossposts - sorry if you don't see this LJ people! I am waaaaay too lazy to crosspost the old fashioned way.
Anyway, last night I dreamed about tattoos. It's pretty fragmented because I did't actually remember immediately on waking up, but I can recall a few things.
-The woman who did my most recent spirals and who did my sister's kickass Hannibal arm piece knew each other and worked together.
-There was a trend among people I know to get tattoos of the phase of the moon from when they were born, often on their face, and often pretty stylized.
-My moon, when I looked it up in the dream, was waxing gibbous (looked it up for real: waxing crescent). I thought I would get a big moon with a black cat lounging over it to make a more complete circle. I was semi-reminiscent of the design for Nary's tattoo that she is getting... next week, I think! The artist though I wanted it on my back, but I wanted it smaller, on my ankle. We discussed how much that hurt but I was fairly unperturbed.
-We talked about all of my tattoos, but for some reason my bee did not feature or come up in the dream. In fact I think th ankle I wanted to get tattooed in this dream was the one where my bee actually is. I think I had it in mind when we were discussing pain, but I don't think it actually was discussed - so I was aware that I had gotten an ankle tattoo but the specifics were repressed in my dream.
-Everyone at this tattoo place thought I should get a labret piercing, because they thought it would look awesome, but I had to tell them that I didn't think I could take care of it, and didn't really wear a lot of jewellery. I was flattered, though, and a discussion ensued about why I don't have any piercings (other than my ears, I gues, but that never actually was explicitly mentioned)
-My sister was gettiing tattoos for her self, and maybe also for my nephews? Or maybe they weren't tattoos, just the person was supposed to colour designs in for her?
-I know she was annoyed at the end because the artist she was working with (the woman who did my latest spirals) only wanted to do a two house session at a time, and there was no way it would all get done. My sister was annoyed because when she'd booked she'd been clear that she wanted to get a whole bunch of things done, including some my little pony shirts (?) for the kids (?)
-She (the artists) had also tried to convince me to put some Watership Down quote in my moon before she realized how small it would have to be. In discussion I didn't think it worked because this was the tattoo I wanted for Cat, and he was a *cat* person, not a bunny person. I realized later this was because my sister was using the quote (which was confusing as well), but I wasn't sure if this was because she'd picked up on the fact that we had some similar tattoos already or because she was being lazy.
-I think there was more, but I forget now.
At least I can see why this would be in my mind - there were people with some really impressive tattoos and piercings at game yesterday, plus both my sister and Nary are going to be getting wrk done next week.
