So, i asked my dad to end me some money last week, and told him I didn't need it right that second, so he forgot.  That's okay, really - at that point I didn't need it immediately.

However, it meant that I had to pay rent with my credit card again, over paypal, for which there is an additional charge.  This is what I've been doing all along so far, though I had been hoping that since I now had checks, I could actually pay with a check instead, as there are extra 'convenience fees' for paying with paypal.

So I was rushing to get this done yesterday while I remembered, before watching a movie with Hazel online, and I forgot to tell PP to take the money from Visa instead of my American bank, to which it always defaults, because I have about 20$ in that account :p  I didn't realize it until later, and because my internet was all fucked up last night, I couldn't got on to paypal to check what had happened.

So yes, it took the rent form my American account.  Dad is wiring me money this morning, but I don't know it if will matter if things process sequentially.  I loathe the fact that American banks will even let you over draw money like that.... though of course they do it because they can then charge ridiculous amounts of fees.  For those among you out there that don't know what I'm talking about, American banks will never decline a debit/credit transaction if you don't have the money.  Canadian banks will.  If you don't have the funds in your account, and you haven't arrange to have an overdraft you just can't get anything out.  In theory it sounds like the American banks are doing you a favour, but they really aren't.  It is a lie.  They charge huge fees and also huge interest to 'let' you do this :p   Fees which i am not looking forward to -_-

Why can't there be a nice simple solution to transferring funds internationally that doesn't entail me 'presenting' for the banks to come and rape my up the ass with fees for transactions, exchange rates, etc etc etc :p
