First off, because I know there are new writers on my friends list, I am going to pimp the august_writing community. It challenges you to write every day, and share your work with other people who are doing the same. It is a great community, with daily challenges (if you need them), some really great writers and a very friendly and supportive atmosphere. I know some people use it to prep for NANOWRIMO as well, if you're in to that sort of thing. Go and check it out - no one will mind if you are a day late! Alas I can't swing it this year, as I am in the field.

The second thing is that The Miss Universe pageant is in the Bahamas this year, and apparently the contestants are coming out here for a day next week, to see the beach. So, yeah. We are amused by the idea, for some reason, and also it adds a little extra mean when I taunt boys for not being here.... especially the ones in my department who are on other projects :V INVASION OF THE BIKINI GIRLS!!!
