Big News of the Week!

This is a post rto demponstrate my utter nerdyness to those who may have had doubts. I have been away for a week with no contact with the outside world, and this is what I talk about first ;p

The Big news of the Week is that wererogue had discovered that the powers that be are making a new comic talking about what Nero was doing for those missing 25 years!

So.... hooray! Story no longer hanging!

However, now I don't know what to do about the Twenty-Five Years fanfic I started in my writing journal exploring that very same question. I will try to continue for now, but I'm not sure I'll be able to keep it up after the comic starts coming out!* Should I try, or focus my energies on other things? I dunno :/ I suppose I could try and finish before it comes out?

*Which is to say I mostly feel comfortable writing fanfic things that fit in to holes in worlds or stories, but when something more 'official' comes along, I lose my inspiration, because my lust for story is being met externally.

Hmm, hmmm, hmmm...

Keep writing it as long as it's fun.

I don't feel so pressed to write another Precious Things myself, so the next one will go up whenver I get an idea that enthuses me. =) (Readers in the fandom seem to have moved on to other stuff. Mostly porn if anything showing up in the comms are a sign. *rolls eyes*)

Yeah, I'll keep writing while I'm excavation anyway - gives me something nice to retire to in the evenings. We'll see after that!

Oh fandom, why are you so obsessed with porn!? I mean, I don't have a problem with well executed porn, but there is so much more to do with the characters, sheesh.

When I said porn, I didn't mean anything related to well executed sadly, for the most part. I actually removed most comms from my view/friends list. :(

porn is only as good as its context, imho. Character development will only improve the porn as far as I'm concerned (assuming that quality porn is actually my main goal, which sometimes it may be, but I believe that issue is maliable for most people).

I love the series and will still be writing it. The lessening of pressure is actually nice, I admit. As much as it may just have been me putting some on myself than anything else.

Hrm. Maybe I should see if people have suggestions or thing they'd like to see explored, see if that would provide inspiration...

I was so annoyed when I saw that, 'cause I know yours would be cooler, what with actually dealing with the Romulans as Romulans and all... Keep on doing it I say. The world needs more good Star Trek.

I wasn't even sure whether I should send you that... I thought you'd want to know, but I was worried that it'd kill your story writing. I'd say keep writing as long as you're enjoying it - for one, you may well find that the comic and your story don't collide as much as you might worry, and for two, it'll be interesting to see how much they have in common.
