I am writing my cultural paper on the role of landscapes/the environment in creating (group) identity.

I've got some ideas for stuff to talk about, and I have books out of the library, but I haen't had a chance to start really reading yet. But I have a clever title!

I'm calling it "Grounding Identity".

Puns FTW :V

Still working on the specifics of the subtitle ;)

In other news, I have two big grant apps due at the end of the week! AHHHHHH! I don't know how I will get them done. Esp since there is this concert tomorrow, and Hallowe'en on Friday.... -_-

No fun for me :/

This is an area of much interest to me. I planned to coauthor a paper on it many moons ago and never got very far with it. The issue got considerable discussion in the U.S. within the cultural resources community over "traditional cultural properties (TCPs)." I think that the Brits are the primary references, though. The Australian aboriginal concepts of landforms, space, time, are well documented although their archaeology has never interested me much.

It seems like you might want to look at "seascapes" as well? Noone has really done that yet.
