If any of these people own tourist properties it might be wise to plan for some time spent explaining things to interested tourists. I am betting that property owners who host tourists would love the added prestige of an archaeological dig on their land as a draw for interested tourists.

I'm sure you'd prefer to spend your time digging and finding things rather than explaining archaeological procedure and what you're looking for to tourists, but if it looks like your landowners might want to use you as a tourist attraction maybe you could set aside some 'visiting hours' where you do a bit of interpretation about your work?

Your landowners would probably love you even more if you help contribute to successful vacations for their tourists, ensuring return visits. ^-^

They're all rental properties, but not really the places that people come and tour, per sey. Because of the nature of the work (we'll be moving around alot on a daily basis) it isn't really the sort of thing where I can just take a few hours to explain things. However I do expect that if people wander over with questions that we'll be doing a lot of explaining of what we're doing!

I'd like to give a talk at some point, as well, and give people a chance to see what all we've found, and such. We'll see how it goes!
