Genoa is famous for its salami and Cristoforo Colombo's sailing trips. The Levant is famous for blowing up whenever possible. This is stuff all people should know, but I bet most Texans or New Yorkers would be very confused by a) what the Levant is and b) where Genoa is, if they know it's a location.

Probably, yes, but in this case the offender was Dutch, so I feel he really should have known better :V
