Even now, in his speeches and the reports of his conversation, you can still catch an echo of that preoccupation with size itself, with magnitude as the garment of power. Some recent commentators have hinted that personal inadequacies in Rhodes might have been the cause of this fascination.

Zimbabwe! St least Southern Rhodesia is now Zimbabwe. I don't know what happened to the Northern bit.

It became Zambia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zambia), apparently. Or was Zambia before, and just reverted. Or something.
