I would like a do over of this morning.

First of all, I found out that my computer clock has been set an hour off for gods know how long, so I have been getting to bed an hour later than I thought! No wonder I've been getting tired so 'early' ;p

Secondly, this morning the bus drove right past me and another guy waiting at the stop without even slowing down once it passed us! The other guy called the dispatch people but there were no help. I hope she at least gets in trouble. Really it is not very hard to pick up people from a bus stop when you are driving a bus. That is kind of the definition of your job. Bah!

So I called Megan, who I was supposed to meet at the gym, and tried again. With not much better success, but even more wasted time. I got on the bus, but by the time I got to school there was a torrential downpour. Even if I *had* thought to bring my umbrella (and I note that it was hot and sunny the first time I left the house), I doubt I could have made it t the gym without being soaked!

Now I am at home, and after some distressingly close thunder peals, it is being audaciously sunny outside, and i am not impressed!

I know other people out there have had worse days than me so far, so I think we should all get together and petition for a do-over of Tuesday!!

Although since that isn't likely to happen, I need to find something else to fill my day. Definitely I will work on some more stories, but I am not sure if I should read some more pirate books or start poking at an article of my own... I also need to go through more drivers handbook stuff (went through half last night).

In Texas, when it is sunny and raining, the local metaphor is "The Devil is beating his wife". Don't ask me why, but there you have it.

I've lived in Texas all my life, and never heard that one.

I spent about eleven years in North Texas/ DFW area, and heard it a lot, not even just from adult, but from teenagers who had Texan parents. I always thought it was a really weird thing to say, but definitely weird enough to stick with me.

I grew up in Houston, and my father's side of the family is all Texan. Maybe it's a yankee thing that's infected North Texas. :P

Hee! Does that mean that Oklahomans are yanks, or just that they have also been compromised by crazy Northern thinking? ;)

How odd :o

It wasn't sunny and raining at the same time though. At least not this morning...

I think Bus Ops had a series of stupid drivers on the routes this morning. The 7:30 bus for my route never ran. Apparently the driver "missed" the line on his log sheet saying he had to make that run. Whoops.
