I somehow fucked up my monitor settings to that the desktop is *bigger* than the screen unless it is at minimum resolution (I can scroll up and down t get to the top or bottom of the desktop though, as needed. How did this happen? I was trying to type '¬_¬' and hit some other key combination.

So how do I fix it?

Anyone? :o

At a complete stab-in-the-dark guess, I'd try [Fn]+[-]? I'd need to see your keyboard for a better idea, but I'd imagine instead of [shift]+[-] for '_' you pressed [Fn]+[+] for zoom?

Or something similar.

I tried that, but no cigar.... It looks alright at 1280x800, and fits on the screen, so I'm sticking with that, I guess :o

That used to happen a lot with the older Ati cards - if you go into the display settings in Windows (assuming you're using Windows), under 'Settings' and 'Advanced' there may be a setting for it there. It really depends on the card!

Indeed, I suspect you hit a key macro specific to your video card. Poke around in the display/card settings and you should be able to (a) restore your display, and (b) turn off the goddamn macros.

I may have hit ctrl+alt+f11, which is appraently enable/disable panel fitting, but even if I change that back, it doesn't fix the problem. But if I just leave everything set to a 1280x800 resolution it seems okay o_O

You have, of course, tried disabling the feature and then rebooting, yes?
