So, its the End of the World<,a>, is it?

So I left the house late this morning, as previously mentioned. I got to the archives and looked through their picture files, and ordered some photocopies. I then poured through the Journals of the Lower House, which were spottily kept after Woodes Rogers (<3) finally got permission for the Bahamians to call a General Assembly. There is some useful stuff in there - not a lot, though, and not enough to really make it worth going through more, luckily.

I left there early as well, because I'd pretty much run out of things to look at. I'd ordered some maps to look at tomorrow, but they are modern and I probably won't miss them. Funny the things your mind things of...

It happened while I was walking home. It must have blown in on the rain - and what a rain! I love tropical rainstorms, all intense and street flooding and watching to make dsure the traffic is going slow because you aren't sure they can see you... I was utterly soaked. And wearing a white top, and acarrying all my notes of course, or I might have revelled in it more than I did.

Suffice it to say, the rain was a good thing. In fact, there were several things working in our favour here - I didn't even know anything was wrong until I got downtown, and passed the Hospirtal on Shirley Street. All the ambulences were there, all sirens going, and no one around. It was creepy, but I was hurrying back to the hotel, trying not to get soaked. Well, more soaked.

It was all over the news, once they let me into the hotel. It's been on from the US for a while, but like I said - the rain must have brought it here, whatever 'it' is. People were amazed I'd made it back - but the streets I was using are generally pretty emnpty, and it was raining pretty hard. I guess zombies don't doo too well in torrential downpours.

They are starting an evacuation, taking people to some of the Out Islands which are hopefuilly still safe. It hasn't disintegrated into chaos *yet*, but I'm not holding my breath. I'm typing this up in my room - I've already staked my space in the line of people tryiong to get word out to their families over the internet, and I just hope it is still working when my time rolls around.

So, for the moment, I'm safe. The Hotel is a good safe spot, too. If the evacuations all go well, I should weather this okay. I just want to let you all know that, and that I'm thinking of you. Be safe.
