Walker was desperate enough to see that his version of events got out of the colony that he pinned a letter inside a hollowed out apple and passed it to a sea captain departing on his way to Virginia.
It reads like something out of questionable fiction. I keep wanting to put a footnote that says "No really. A hollowed out apple. For serious."

I still love the apple story. But I feel sorry for the guy who got pins in his mouth biting into the thing. Bet you'd get your arse sued off if you did that today!

you know, I have to say the thing that slows me down the most with wrting is footnoting everythig. Stupid using primary sources :V I'm up over 50!
