There was a cup in the Bahamas in 1701. There was a bunch of neat stuff that happened, bu my favourite thing is that, in order to get a report to some other authority, Thomas Walker, the legally commissioned Admiralty judge, hollowed out an apple pinned the note inside, put the apple back together and then casually gave to to a sea captain on his way to Virginia.

And like a year or two later, with the start of the War of Spanish Succession, Nassau is totally razed anyway. Oh history, you're so wacky!
