Rogers done. Now researching rigging so I can start drawing my hull. The I'm going to the library to get books on the battle of jutland and HMS dreadnought. Woot. I mightg go to a talk at 6 - we'll see.... Still need to read the last 50 pages of stuff for tomorrow too. :p

The Battle of Jutland is one of those things where, almost 100 years later, people are still bickering as to who exactly won/benefited ;p

Ohh, *that* battle of Jutland. Now that I know what it is, I recall thinking that one went to the Germans.

I haven't looked at any of my old notes on it yet, but I remember thinking that one side was tactically more sucessful, but the other side's strategy was more successful. Both sides claim it as a win, anyway :V

iirc the RN took heavier casualties but the german navy retreated to port

The synopsis I remember from school was that both navies scared the hell out of each other in a messy, inconclusive battle, and then avoided large-scale open naval warfare for the rest of the war. The winners, if any, were actually the sailors on either side.
