I am planning to go into campus today. First, however, I want to make sure that my internet is going to be working this weekend. I have readings to do, though, and I'm not 100% sure exactly where I can get my textbook(s). I am a little frustrated with the program, and with the attitudes of some of the people I've encountered here. i am not *surprised* perhaps, but still... It sort of makes me want to run out on everything here and go hide in the bowels of UCL or something, living as a hobo and selling my self to afford tuition :p

Okay, that is a bit extreme. On the other hand, I am looking around and not really seeing a lot of support for my interests in the program anywhere, unless I go run and hide upstairs. Which is why I'd applied to the Anthropology program in the first place, see? Well. I can see benefit to having to take most of the core courses here. there isn't as much overlap as I'd thought, but there will still be a lot of redundancy from specific classes. And oh, yes, I am going to have to take method and theory in historical archaeology again. That's right. The *third fucking time* at the graduate level. I am not pleased, but this is one of their hard rules. They specifically say that you have to re-take it no matter what, so you can get exposed to new perspectives and so forth. Bah. BAH!

I am feeling a little bitter today. I might go out with some department people later tonight, or go peek in reserved curiousity on the Cam game that is going on tonight. We will see. Right now, I am going to call the internet people and growl at them, and then go to school where there is something resembling a reliable connection, maybe.

Oh, and after I eat lunch.
