Confidence or arrogance?

I want to fight Tony with a polearm. I wanna know how I'd do. He's got several advantages.... reach, strenght, and SCA experience.

I have got lots of training, though, in how to use various polearms. And lots of compliments. My captain said I could probably trounce polearm fighters from other kinds of reenactment groups. He also said he'd thought me a natural at it when I first started. The first of that could just be arrogance, and the second ego-boosting on his part, but I wonder...

Tony is one of the few people I know who does do polearm fighting. I...wanna know.

I see... Well, I'm more likely to have a chance to challenge him, though, since he is addicted to Joel. I'll have to defend my poor love's honour ;)

Also.... It might be interesting to fight you with a sword, to see how different techniques work out. I shold get a boken when I get hom, since I can't afford a real (reenactment quality) sword.

You'd totally kick my ass. I haven't done any sort of sword fighting in about ten years. What little I've done in kung fu is strictly with forms.
