The thing is not healing well. There are a few contributing factors. One: in the areas where the colour is especially dark and string, there is extra ink that goes extra deep. These are generally the 'problem areas'. Two: I have always scarred easily. Three: I had been using lubriderm with sunscreen as opposed to just regular lubriderm, and It was irritating the wound even more, I suspect (but will never be able to prove).

So You know when you don't actually bleed but you get scabs of lymph forming? pretty much the whole thing is covered in those. And I try to keep them from drying out (because otherwise they will crack and bleed and become even worse scabs) but it is hard - it requires applying new lotion at least every thre hours. I was gone for four to see pirates and I'm afraid that it split too deeply in some parts. I can't risk moving my arm much, either, because it tears at them. Also, because the lymph-scabs are of different depths (or thicknesses, I suppose), the bits that are already healed underneath will curl up and catch on things. Which mean that i don't want to wear anything over it, but since i can't expose it to intense sunlight until t is *much* better healed, for better or worse, i pretty much can't go outside. This has me very cranky, because it was expensive and permanent, and I'm not sure how much of this is my fault, or even if it is going to be permanently fucked. I went back to the salon but all they could say is to keep applying the lubriderm to keep the scabs moist. So anyway, woe and angst, woe and angst. If I am especially cranky at people, I am sorry, but nothing frustrates me more than situations over which I have so little control :p

I liked the film - the pacing wasn't as good and no, there wasn't as much actual pirating. but the characters were still essentially piratical, and anyway the movie is inspired by the ride and not actual pirates. Their bizzare grasps at historical references continue to throw me for a loop. Yes, I know, zombies, kraken, Davy Jones, etc - what can I expect? But it is the "George R" that really threw me off! Seriously, people. Port Royal: destroyed in 1692. George I? Not king until 1714! O_o Maybe they thought that James would be too confusing because of Norrington, and William because of the turners, but really people, really. They skip Anne also - so three monarchs. two if you don't count James, who was only in power until 1688. Anyway.

The whole East India thing and The Company's anti-pirate, 'the world is changing' sentiments also made me think of Kidd, possibly because of the discussion I was having with aghrivaine right before I left. I knew the cliff-hanger was coming, I mostly liked the jokes, and the use of Norrington, though it made me sad to see him in such a sorry state during and shortly after his entrance. I *heart* Norrington. So so lawful good :D There was certainly a lot of food for the slash mills in this one too ;D Anyway,I thought it was a fun adventure romp and am looking forward to the next one.
