I'm warning you, they're pretty silly.

The Pit That Never Ends (To the tune of The Song That Never Ends)
This is the pit that never ends
It just goes on and on my friends
Some people started digging it not knowing what it was
And they'll continudigging it forever just because...
(repeat, add nausea)

There's a Hole in the Bottom of the Trench
(To the tune of There's a Hole in the Bottom of the Sea)

There's a hole in the bottom of the trench
There's a hole in the bottom of the trench
There's a hole, there's a hole, there's a hole in the bottom of the trench!

There's a bone in the hole in the bottom of the trench
There's a bone in the hole in the bottom of the trench
There's a hole, there's a hole, there's a hole in the bottom of the trench!

There's a tooth on the bone in the hole in...
There's a tooth in the etc...
There's a hole, there's a hole, there's a hole in the bottom of the trench!

There's a hole in the tooth in the bone etc
There's a hole in the tooth in the bone etc
There's a hole, there's a hole, there's a hole in the bottom of the trench!

There's some dirt in the hole in the tooth etc
There's some dirt in the hole etc
There's a hole, there's a hole, there's a hole in the bottom of the trench!

The beauty of the last song is in its adaptability... It can easily be tailored to suit whatever you are digging. Variations include "There's a pot in the hole in the bottom of the trench" and "There's a feature in the hole...". Is there no limit to my talent? No, I don't think there is. Arr!
Mood:: 'silly' silly

But what about that great classic, "Backfilling"?

Sadly, I never got past the chorus on that one... (To the tune of Free-falling...) ~And I'm Back.... backfiliing...

There was potential there, but it just never got off the ground. Maybe I can fill in some verses at a later date.

Hmm..

Name is Alan, she's tench nine skelly
Got no sacrum, and her spinal cord's gone
She's a good specimen
We took her jaw and humerous
Now it's time for her
To get covered again..

And I'm baaaaaaack.... backfillin'
(back fillin', yeah I'm backfillin')

His name was Jezebel
Our most complete skelly
With a smooshed skull, and some foot bones too
We'd guess that he's later than Alan
'Cause his legs went
Under Alan's arm

And I'm baaaaack.... Back fillin'..
(etc)

How was that for impromptu archaeology songs? ;)
