I went over to dinner with neighbours tonight, with Mary and Ian. The neighbours in question are acaully friends of my from gaming/medieval circles, Ken and Hugh. They littlerally live like, four houses down the street.
Anyway, they invited us over for Sunday dinner, to be neighbourly. Ken made a really nice lamb roast, with roast potatos and parsnips, plus carrots and beans, and gravy. For dessert there was a sticky toffee meringue thing, and two varieties of fruit salad... one made with black vodka. All very tasty.
There was also red wine with dinner... I didn't have any, 'cause I don't like wine. After dinner, Ken brought out some apricot brandy, and we chatted about random stuff for a while. I tried the brandy, and found that I actaully quite liked it. I barely had any, though... Maybe quarter of a wine glass. But still, oy. You know how some people are just hit really hard by some kinds of liquor? *Raises Hand* I didn't get stupidly drunk, but my head still felt a little floaty hours later when we went to leave :o I think I still feel a little wonky.... I don't know if it was just the brandy, or if it was the combination with the cup of string black tea I had just beforehand.
Anyway, my slight inebriation aside, we talked, and wound up playing the Munchkin! card game, which is very much fun. Kind of like Talisman only no board. It's a nasty backstabbing game, too. hee :D
Anyway, it was fun, but I broke it up around quarter to one when I thought that my Pebbley Shores people might kill me for being too late. Besides, Hugh had to work in the morning ;)
And now I'm playig Pebbley Shores! Hurray! I like Jamal. He's well meaning. hee hee. He used to have a mullet, but he cut it off, as a symbolic gesture when his friend/ward left... And now he's high on opium from dancing with the poppy sisters :D
I love changeling... *hop*
