I'm a littl slow moving lately. However, I was up late last night, and now I have picked the clothes I am taking to SHA, though I haven't actually packed them yet. That's probably next.

After that, I need to go out and get hamster food somewhere, because I have none. I haven't decided if I should take the bus, or walk, or walk one way and bus back, or what. Either way it is a huge time-sink and I am trying to figure out a: where I should go, and b: if there are any other errands I could/should run while I'm out. Maybe I will pick up a stick incense holder, because atm I only have cone, but only stick incense, and that's getting a little messy ;) The annoying thing is that it cuts into my thesis-writing time. But maybe I will make that up tonight.

Ack! I can't believe I'm leaving tomorrow for California :o I hope the conference is good... But either way, I love traveling, and it excites me to be going just because I've never gone out there before. I'm easy to please, really :)

What part of California? Want to drink rum and talk about pirates? (If it's LA)

Oh well!

Sacramento is not your stereotypical Californian town - no palm trees, it's more like the Pacific Northwest than anything.

And really, why go to California if there are no palm trees?

Because there is a conference!

Also, palm trees just don't do it for me.

Don't pirates bury their treasure under palm trees? And wouldn't that count as "material culture"?

Well, I *suppose*... the tree would only be an eco fact though, unless the pirates specifically altered it in some way. Maybe of they carved a big 'X' on it.

Anyway, clearly you should come to Sacramento this weekend. It only a what, 6 hour dive or something? ;)

I would if I could! Alas, script to write, game to run, and far too little free time for a long haul like that.

I guess the world just isn't ready for such a high concentration of piratey-awesomeness :/
