I am so pissed and frustrated right this minute.
First off, both of my american accounts are currently overdrawn, even though they both had money enough in them this morning. This is because of check cards, which I loaths. I hate that most places make you use them as credit, adn so there is no relaible way of knowing whether or not things have been charged to you account, or when they might randomly show up. i does not help that my online bank statements are always at least three days behind. the 'current balance' apparently means nothing.
Also news to me is the fact that apparently my bank takes out my fees in the middle of the month. I've never noticed this before because it's never been an issue, but there you have it. I had to canel the order I'd just out in for Cat's Xmas present for fear of racking up (more?) overdraft fees. the fees haven't actually registered, but I'm sure they will.
In other exciting news, my school has decided to implement a retarded policy for issuing returns, where they give everyone these not-quite-debit cards. Basically, the money they refund never really leaves their controlled system. You can spend it like a debit/credit (hiss *check*) card, though. It is supposed to be convenient (and no fees!) It sounds good but I don't want another card to spend money from or to have to keep track of. I don't like having things like this forced on my without a choice. I am probably being irrational but I don't trust the university. I can arrange to have them send money to my bank but I have to print something and pay to mail it in, and, of course, I don't have a printer, so I can't even deal with this annoyance at the moment. I have to go out of my way to do it. It is like they want to make it extra inconvenient not to do what they want you to. And that just makes me more suspicious. There is absolutely no reason that they couldn't accept the information as a web form. They're just cocksuckers who are trying to press us into doing what they want.
The other option is that I could have the university just mail me a check, but I've seen how well that works out. Assholes.
So mad! It's all so stupid. I have plenty of money, just none in hand. I hate this.
