I fucking *HATE* automated voice systems! especially the ones that pretend to be people. They are obnoxious and generally you have less options for talking to a real person. The toll-free number to call for help on the form I need to fill out takes me to the system. The system cannot help me: it simply does not have the right kind of information, and there is no way that it could. The most it could do is repeat the infomation avaliable in the booklet, which I have already read. BAH!

TThere is another, non-toll-free number. i called it, explained my problem. The lady said she was going to hook me to an agent and the BITCH SENT BE BACK INTO THE FUCKING SYSTEM!

That pisses me off for many reaosns, including the facts that a: she either lied or misrepresented what she was doing b: it was no longer a toll-free call... I'm not fucking *paying* to be partoinized by a machine and c: it implies that the information on the form is wrong in the first place.

Angry!

ETA: The answer is apparently to rant and swear at the system until it gets confused and
has to transfer you to a real person. Of course, the real person has now transfered me to another system... We'll see how this goes :p I have the most generic hold message ever to: "Thank you for calling the government of Canada! Your call is important to us, blah blah blah!" The background music is classical, at least.

...In the end, after going through about three more people, it comes down to this: I can either try and get some form of proof address from dad, before I leave for To (or maybe sent to Hazel's place? That might work, if he has anything), or I can use Jodie's address as my permanent address again, which I just know is her very favourite thing ^-^ The only reason I have that option is because she still lives there, and I know the other folks who live there, so that if there were any questions about registration. ect, they could be relatively easily cleared up. I have e-mailed dad, though, to see if he has anything.

To be honest, though, I think I would rather vote in the F'ton riding, where I am a bit more familiar with the people involved, and the local issues are more important to me (...of course, that being said, I don't actually know who our candidates are o_O).

Anyway, I should shower and get dressed, etc. I absolutely couldn't sleep last night at all. maybe it was some kind of sympathetic insomnia with all my peeps here who were likely staying up to a million oclock finishing papers. I was done around 2... it would have been sooner but I procrastinated my ass on (procrastination involves a lot of sitting around and eating ice cream, if you are me, so I am much more likely to gain ass than loose any ;)
