What the hell is this supposed to be about?
I got it from the breast cancer site... you know the one where you click to fund mammograms. This site just seems like such a trick to be. 'make yourself feel better by just clicking!' There is no information about how the mamograms are actually distributed (sorry they go to 'low-income, inner-city and minority women'), or how much a click actually contributes towards one. But that isn't the part that annoys me. That's the *store*, where the don't tell you how much of your money actually goes towards mammograms other than in 'percentages of a mammogram'. Buying any item gets you 1%... or a whole dolar. ooOOoo. You get to show the whole world your support for poor unfortunates who can't afford mammograms. Your whole dollar of support! Public displays that mean so little.
It just seems to me like they are trying to selly stuff by preying on sympathy. Just compare their stuff with what you can get through the American or Canadian cancer societies...
Now looking at that banner I linked to... What the hell? A mammogram is not going to 'save' a 'victim' of breast cancer. It will just tell them that they have cancer (same with the above mentioned 'low-income, inner-city and minority women', how are they supposed to afford treatment in the American medical system?). And they are playing on double the sympathy by linking it with the hurricane dissasters, because clearly, mammograms are on top of these ladies' lists. Bah.
Mreh.
I guess I oughta go study for my exam this afternoon :p
