And apparently not *just* because of the movie. Or maybe it is just one of those awesome little coincidence designed to make the world a better place.
For those of you who are not psychic, I am talking about the fact that the library tour I took my class today was hosted by M. Reynolds! No seriously! :D Matt Reynolds, but close enough to make me happy ;) He works in the North Carolina Collection.
I have decided that I want to play dress up for the movie, which basically entails playing dress-up all day. I figured that of all the poeple in the cast, the person whose wardrobe I can come closest to emulation on short notice is Inara's. I can't imagine that is true for too many people, so I'm taking advantage of it while I can! So, floofy petal-like white-ish pants with mirrors, and my red and gold brocade coat. I was wearing an off-white blouse earlier but I took it off to do baking, and I'm not sure I'll put it back on, if I can find something better. It would be super awesome if I could find something that would let me wear my corset with the ensemble, but maybe that would be a bit much for watching a movie in, anyway. Still, play play play!
I currently have squares in the oven, for the Phi Alpha Theta thingy. I hope they turn out, because they seemed awful soft. Maybe I shouldn't have added that vanilla... We'll see, I guess.
I did thesis stuff this morning at the library! I now have some books that I need to look at, to see what they have to say about (non-piratey) maritime culture in the period , and I have ordered a promising looking archaeology article from ILL entitled 'Pottery as Plunder'.
Now, I think I will look at the database that one of the other students helpfully compiled for my hist arch assignment, and play around with that for a bit. Wheee!
ETA: it's amazing what you can do with a bigass piece of chiffon ;) Also, I hate Excel. Or rather, I hate not knowing all the good Excel tricks. I wonder if there is a course on using it that I could take through the university...
