Just watched PotC with Maria, who'd never seen it. Crazymadness! Tried to deny ways in which the internet has warped my brain, but failed to prevent sniggering at lines such as "My place is here, between you and Jack."

I may try to read more Chartier, but I may.... Hmmm, maybe I will take a bath instead. Yay bath! And then more Chartier. Or maybe some Elizabeth Moon. I'm not making any commitments.

It's even more hilarious when you recall that in his commentary, Mr Verbinski blithely declares "There's not subtext in this movie" *snort*
