I think, in the end, my day was good, despite the class missing drama, and the walking in the rain, and the locking myself out when I had a guest.

For one thing, Dr. Terjanian was really understanding about the time mix up. I hope Adam (L) is as forgiving -_- That class has been rescheduled for tomorrow at 1. She also gave me some books to read to help with the class I want to teach for the Hist 4000 course. I got unexpectedly paid, and went dowtown to go the the bank, and made a hair appointment for next wednesday. I did have to walk in the rain, but it was okay. I also unexpectedly ran into Dina's Matthew on campus, which was confusing. I talked to him for a bit... in the rain. Maybe that was mean of me, 'cause I had an umbrella, and he didn't. He did offer me free cartoons on DVD though ^-^ I also saw a sign at the bank that they are looking for tellers for Greenville and Winterville, so maybeuif I see him this weekened, or whatever, I will let him know. He has a job at a call center selling medical supplies, but is not 100% satisfied. I don't know that he *would* be interested, but I saw it right after I talked to him, so the connection is made in my brain.

I came home, and finished reading book two of The Reluctuant Adventures of Lieutenant Martin Jerrold. It is easy reading, but really fun. I recommend them for people who like historical fiction, especially along the lines of Flashman. It is first person, so Jerrold doesn't always have a clue what is going on. I really like the Post Office Guy. The writing style is like... Terry Pratchett meets George Macdonald Frazier. Or maybe it is just that the good lieutenant is like a cross between Rincewind and Flashman. But it is funny, and interesting, and good. And it is about a Navy guy. Did I mention the navy>? I repeat the biyt about the Navy for the Navy fans out there on my F'list ;) There isn't *too* much about boats, though, I admit. It is more land based stuff, but interesting nonetheless, I promise. However, the second book won't actually be published until December. Dr. Dudley lent me his advanced proof ;)

Then, maira called, and we conspired to have dinner :) I had this conversation with her the other day about how I have been hanging out with her and [livejournal.com profile] tsiankiio a lot, and that I am kind of like a stand-in boyfriend for both of them. "Oh, I would like to go to this thing, but my man is not avaliable, I will ask Heather, my inoffensive single female friend!" I was teasing, of course, but she said she called me tonight because she was considering having a lonely single person meal before she remembered she had a 'boyfriend;' around. heh. And yes, we decided to eat on the balcony, and I locked the door behind me. We tried to get ahold of the guy who is supposed to have access to such things as spare keys, but if he was home (the lights and TV were on :p) he wasn't answering. So eventually, I decided that mischief was called for, and I tried to pick the lock. Eventually, cutlery triumphed, and we gained access, hoorah! So yes, if the deadbolt isn't locked, it is possible to gain entry to my house with a desert fork.

After she left, I managed to make myself do some damned work! I fixed all the (marked - Dr. Dudley doesn't mark stuff up as much as Carl) gramatical errors for my other essays, and made notes on what I need to do more work on, at least. I have some ideas for what I can work on for now, at least.

And now... I thnk I will take a shower, and maybe read some, and go to bed. I havent decided if I shoudl read some enlightenment book, or more of master and Commander, though. I also wonder if I will have other random ASOIAF dreams tonight. I had some last night, in one of which, Jon was actually the bastard child of Ned and Lyana o_O I don't know, folks, I just don't know....

I need to make some cds for people!
