Granted, staying up until 1:30 to watch all of master And Commander is not the wisest thing I've ever done. But I needed to watch *something* to christen my video capability.

and...and... and.... ships! :)

Also, I don't have to be anywhere until 11.

There are some damn fine ships in that movie. Also I like that creepy old sailor with "Hold Fast" tattooed on his knuckles. And the ship-to-ship combat is pretty damn realistic and grim. However, the film could have been made better by having Sean Bean in it.

I actually think that it is mostly the same ship. i'm not sure how they did Acheron, but I seem to rememberbeing told that it is *also* Rose, only dressed a little differently. But some of the shots are really gorgeous.

As for your second comment, well, that's true of just about everything, so I'm not sure that it can really have *that* great of an impact on my opinion of the film ;)
