Well, the gaming store is about a 15-20 min walk from my house at a leisurely pace. I think it is actually closer to walk there from here than to Eller, which, depending on how things go this term, could be a dangerous thing -_- However, due to the fact that it is a gaming store, it is not open on Mondays until 5:30. The used bookstore only has game of thrones and Clash of Kings, no Storm of Swordss. I may try mny luck with Amazon marketplace.
So, although That only meets one if my outing goals, I managed to find out and do a whole slew of other useful things! first off, on my way out there, suring this 10-15 min walk down a mostly side-walked street, even, I passed numerous fooderies, mostly fstfood but not all, no less than three pharmacies, two laundromats (one probably about 5 min away - good to know if anything happens to my own machines), a small possibly mexican grocery store, at least two dollar stores, and some other useful; services. I also realized/remembered that the gaming store is right across from a food lion! So yes, I now live within Reasonable Walking Distance of a *real* grocery store. It's got decent enough selection and good specials, so the onlything I am probably not going to want to buh there is frozen stuff and fish, but only because it's been *so* hot lately. I mayke an experimental purchase at some point to see how well frozen stuff survives on the walk bvack to mine. If it isn't too bad, well, I could just pack carefully ;) Anyway, I feel good because this all conspires to make me much less dependant for food on other peopler. Hooray! aAnd cool stuff!
there is also a sceond hand clothign store on the way. i found their prices a bit high, but they were having a sale, so I bught some stuff anyway. I got a brown quilted cotton vest and a long brown linen(!) skirt, a long, skinny silk scarf with small fall-couloured flowers. I also got somethign for hazel which I really hopes fits her. It is Absolutely Gorgeous, and very her... If anything, the waist will be too big and the bust too small, but I'll send it anyway, because if she can wear it at all, it is so awesome that I think she'll wear it anyway. In fact, I will find a box for it now :) I alsp bought Cute Shoes (tm). I'm not sure if I should blame Hazel or Dina, buit someone clearlly, *someone* has been making sacrifices and praying to the god of womanly shoe-shopping to open my eyes. In my defense, they were less than 5$. They are mottled orange and red, with a flat toe and chunky square heels, ~4". Maybe I ought to take a picture for photograophic proof, because I am unlikely to atually wear them much.
Now, i am going to do the changes to my PHD proposal that steve suggested, and see about ordering transcripts from Sheffield, and maybe UNB. Ithink I will go *back* out the the gaming store later, when it is actually open, and time the trip properly this time.
I also got a broom, some candles of various sizes, a blanket, a mop bucket, some assorted produce (baby red taters and fresh beans!), hummus, freezer bags, cling wrap, and some vanilla, wooh! Now I can make cookies :)

What time were you thinking for sewing stuff? What all do you have/need to do? Do you know what you are making, etc?
