EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I just got back a *really* positive response from the UCL person that I e-mailed yesterday! it says things like "The base toic is sound", "This *does* sound like the kind of thing I'd be interested in supervising", "You and your topic would fit in very well here", "I am trying to buff up our maritime archaeology on all levels, and am hoping to be able to devote more time to some quality PHD students", and so forth. So, now I have to answer some questions from him, and start thinking about how I would write up a PHD proposal, hmmm....

...EEK! I just finished my MA prospectus :o

Wow. Impressive. :) That's the one grad school I didn't get into.

Very good news. I hope it works out!

Me too :o I haven't actually applied yet, this was just an opening letter to one of the proffs there, but it is encouraging, nonetheless. The biggest hurdle will be the cost, I'm afraid :/

Great news! If you would be planning on starting your program in the fall of 2006 (ie if you finish your MA in the current academic year), you should think about applying for a SSHRC doctoral fellowship, which you can hold at any university worldwide, since you are a Canadian citizen. The deadlines come up quite fast (Oct 1-ish).

The site says Nov 15 for non Canadian universities, so a *bit* more leeway :o
