I decided I wanted to read Old Granny Fox.

It has peter rabbit in it. I was confused. I remember this peter rabbit. I remember a great deal of stories involving him,. but my brain was saying "Didn't Beatrix Potter write the Peter Rabbit stories?" And yes, she did. But that was a *different* Peter Rabbit. Hers came first, it seems, with Thornton W Burgess's books being published about eight yearsa later, but his books are more about life in the forest than about silly rabbits. I like mine better. You can tell my parents were foresters, all reading us stories about animals where they actually have to worry about survival, and it is okay for them to eat each other because that is nature's way. oh, and also, Old Granny Fox is all about how old people are smater than you ^-^

You can read them here. Old Mother West Wind comes first.

Strangely, no. I have seen the movie...

This stuff is for a slighty younger audience, I thik. I'm not really sure what level though. It's is more like "Wind in the Willows"
