I am cross posting this to both my own journal and rocksfall to mke sure it gets good exposure.

I am thinking that with Diablotin ending so soon (waaaaaah!), many of us/you will be in a very dry spot as far as gaming goes. Rob is only running his game every two weeks, and there are only a few of us in it! whatever will we do? There are only two sessions of Gnomes left tops... Some of you have real life games, orthers of us are not so fortunate! Eeek!

Well, I took a deep breath and reigned in my panic and came up with an Idea, in consultation with the lovely [livejournal.com profile] curtana. Rather than asking any one person to run a full fleged campaign, we can all agree to run one shots with pregenerated characters. If we get enough people in on it, it would probably only work out to running once every two months or so. It wouldn't matter if you couldn't make it for any particular session, because we would probably have lots of players. Not everyone would get to play *every* week, but we would do our damndest to make sure it was fair!
I would say that ti should only be open to people who are willing to run. Otherwise it wouldn't be fair, but it shouldn't take too much effort. My plan is to create one or two settings to rundifferent plots it.... and flesh out the areas that way. It would mean even less work ;)

Would anyone else be interested? If we get six people, then you would only have to run once every 6 weeks. That's not often! Lots of time for even a busy person to come up with a one shot thing. I would advise against combat things, unless they are *all* combat, but it could be fun :)

Jole talks a lot about running games. We will see. And he will never be able to include *everyone*, either.

The only game I have ever run is Changeling, and with disastrous reults!! :(

Ahh, this is one shots though! You set up everything (pre gen characters), and have more control that way.

And *I* *liked* your changeling game ;_;

You probably would have liked it more if it had a decent plot. Or an ending. Besides, you're biased.

I don't have the foresight and adaptability required to run a game, which is why mine all die. I don't think a short-term game would really avoid this.

I dunno. I don't thik you ned *too* much foresight for a one shot., which is the advantage. And you could think of it as gaining experience for running other things :)

Also, I have no books. I have the hateful PDF, and that is all.

I liked your changeling game too. I never understood why you stopped running.

Because I realized my plot was retarded and did not make sense, and because I could not get my characters together.

aww, if your plot didn't make sense, the only one who saw it was you ;)

That's because I ended it before you could discover how dumb it was. >:(

Don't count yourself so short! It was loads of fun. I always looked forward to playing it.

One-shots where we, as ST/DM/GMs have to make all the characters up and everything? I've never tried that before... Not sure what sorts of things I could come up with. I'd be interested but I'm not confident about my ability to throw a fun and interesting one-shot together. :/

I am :)

You could run things in the c-verse in different parts to help flesh it out or something (Same goes for hazel, really), or think of other cool settings...

Nobody wants to play in the damn C-verse but you and I and Ceiridwen. >:(

I think it woudl be different with onne shots, because a: there would be more structure, and b: there would be short resolvable plots. Also, you could set thigs in less develloped areas where there aren't as many major characters around to influence things.

I would be interested. I've had some oneshot ideas and campaign ideas running around that I've been wanting to try, but haven't had the discipline to develop further.

Oh my God -- the Gaming Circle meets the Internet! ^_^

This sounds potentially very interesting... provided I get off my butt and finally get my /"(*ing computer repaired...

I don't think I could commit to this in the immediate future, but maybe by November or so I could.
