This sounds kinda good. I'm sure that it could be modernized... It is from The Buccaneers of America by Exquemelin, chapter eight.

Yet another drink, even more delicious, is made by taking pineapples, roasting the till half done and kneading them in the same way as the bananas.* When well mixed, they add a third part of wild honey and let all ferment together. The liquor looks just the colour of Spanish wine and is most delectable.

*kneaded in cold water inside huge calabashes
